Privacy Policy

Overview

ChatAI (“the App”) is designed with privacy as a core principle. This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data.

In short: we do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data. Your conversations, voice dictation, and AI processing all stay on your device.

Data Collection

ChatAI does not collect any data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected
• No tracking of your usage or behaviour
• No data is sent to any server
• No analytics or advertising frameworks
• No crash reports sent to external services
• No account or login required

Data Storage

All conversations and chat history are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device and is not backed up to any external server.

Apple Intelligence

ChatAI uses Apple's on-device intelligence framework (FoundationModels) to generate responses. All processing happens locally on your device.

Apple's own privacy policies for Apple Intelligence apply to the AI processing. For more information, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

Microphone & Voice Dictation

If you use voice dictation, ChatAI requests microphone and speech-recognition permission. Your speech is transcribed on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio is never recorded to disk, stored, or transmitted anywhere.

App Lock

If you enable App Lock, ChatAI uses Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode (via Apple's LocalAuthentication framework) to unlock the app. Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS and is never accessible to ChatAI.

Siri & Shortcuts

ChatAI provides an “Ask ChatAI” action for Siri, Spotlight, the Shortcuts app and the Action button. The answer itself is still generated entirely on your device, and ChatAI never receives or stores any audio.

If you invoke that action by speaking to Siri, Apple's Siri handles the voice request itself, and Siri's own privacy policy and settings apply to that step. This is the one path where a request may involve Apple's systems rather than your device alone. Typing the request in the Shortcuts app avoids it entirely.

Third-Party Services

ChatAI does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs. There are no external network calls made by the app.

Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

• Individual chats: Swipe left on a chat and tap Delete
• All chats: Go to Settings > Delete All Chats
• Complete removal: Uninstalling the app removes all data from your device

Children's Privacy

ChatAI does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
