Privacy Policy

Overview

Moodly (“the App”) is developed by Teqners. This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data.

In short: Moodly does not collect, store or share any personal data. Everything you record stays on your device, including all speech recognition and AI processing.

Data Access

Microphone and Speech Recognition

• When you record a journal entry, the App uses your device's microphone and Apple's on-device speech recognition to turn your voice into text.
• Audio is not saved. Only the resulting transcript is stored, and only on your device.
• Nothing is transmitted off your device.

Artificial Intelligence Features

Moodly includes AI-powered features: mood analysis of each entry (mood, sentiment, energy, stress and topics), a short AI reflection and reflection prompt, and a weekly summary on the Insights tab.

These features do not use any third-party AI service. No data is ever sent to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic or any other external AI provider, and no data is sent to Teqners.

What powers them

All AI features run exclusively on Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework, part of Apple Intelligence. The model runs locally on your device.

What data is used

The transcript of the entry you just recorded or typed, and, for the weekly summary, the mood, sentiment and topics of your recent entries.

Where it goes

Nowhere. Processing happens entirely on your device. This information never leaves your device, is never transmitted over a network, and is never seen by Teqners or any third party.

Availability

These features require a device that supports Apple Intelligence with it enabled. On other devices, entries are saved without AI analysis and all other App features work normally.

Data Collection

Moodly does not collect any data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected
• No usage analytics or tracking
• No advertising identifiers
• No crash reports sent to external services
• No data is transmitted to any server — the App makes no network requests
• No third-party SDKs, AI services or advertising frameworks are used

Data Storage

All journal entries (transcript, mood analysis and reflection) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS app storage. They are never backed up to any server controlled by Teqners. You can delete any entry from within the App, and deleting the App removes all stored entries.

Third-Party Services

Moodly does not use any third-party services, AI providers, analytics or advertising frameworks. The only integrations are Apple's own on-device frameworks — Speech, and Apple's on-device Foundation Models — governed by Apple's privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

Moodly does not collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Not Medical Advice

Moodly is a journaling tool. It does not provide medical, psychological or mental-health advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
